How to practise Ganesha mudra

Ganesha is the elephant headed Hindu God and he is considered as the remover of all obstacles. So he is invoked at the beginning of prayers, new ventures and any important undertakings. Festival associated with Ganesha is Ganesha Chaturthi or Vinayaka Chaturthi.

How to form Ganesha Mudra

Bend the fingers and grab the left hand with the right hand with the palm facing inward so that both the hands are clasped.

Exhale and vigorously pull the hands apart without releasing the grip.

The hands are in front of the chest and this action will tense the muscles of the upper arm and the chest area.

Inhale and let go of the tension

Repeat six times

Change the hand positions and again do the exercise six times

Remain in silence for a while after this

Ganesha mudra should be done every day. This mudra stimulates digestion and metabolism. It helps to streanghten the heart muscles and open the bronchial tubes and release tension. It also opens the fourth chakra.
