AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV: India Celebrates Its 75th Anniversary of Independence!

75th anniversary of Indian Independence  or Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is an ongoing event, and is being celebrated in India and abroad.

The Government of India organize several events under “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” with the theme “Nation First Always First”.

The Government also aims to hoist 200 million tricolors to mark the special occasion.

India populace to mark the country’s anniversary of independence with enthusiasam to bring the tiring home and be a part of the “Hav Ghav Tiranga Campaign”.

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations will conclude on August 15, 2023. This ongoing event is based on 5 themes – Freedom, Ideas, Resolve, Actions and Achievements.

The Prime Minister of India, honorable Shri Narendra Modi will unfold the Tricolor from the Red Fort in Old Delhi like every year. On this day Indians pay tribute to all the brave souls of India, who have heroically fought for our country’s freedom in the past.

India was under the colonialism of the British for more than 200 years and declared independent on August 15, 1947 after a struggle that lasted for over 90 years from 1857 to 1947. We are successfully governing our country and moving towards becoming a developed nation from a developing one, leaving its mark on the world map.

The Independence day is celebrated throughout the country with Indian flag-hoisting ceremonies, drills and the singing of the Indian National Anthem.

 

THE NATIONAL ANHTEM OF INDIA (FULL AND SHORT VERSIONS)

The National Anthem of India is played or sung on various occasions as per the Instructions issued from time to time about the correct versions of the Anthem, the occasions on which these are to be played or sung, and about the need for paying respect to the anthem.

Full version of India’s National Anthem  reads as follows:

 Jana-gana-mana-adhinayaka jaya he

Bharata-bhagya-vidhata

Panjaba-Sindhu-Gujarata-Maratha

Dravida-Utkala-Banga

Vindhya-Himachala-Yamuna-Ganga

Uchchala-jaladhi-taranga

Tava Subha name jage,

Tave subha asisa mage,

Gahe tava jaya-gatha,

Jana-gana-mangala-dayaka jaya he

Bharata-bhagya-vidhata.

Jaya he, Jaya he, Jaya he, jaya jaya jaya jaya he!

 

The short version of India’s National Anthem reads as follows:

Jana-gana-mana-adhinayaka jaya he

Bharata-bhagya-vidhata.

Jaya he, jaya he, jaya he, Jaya jaya jaya jaya he.

This short version consisting of the first and last lines of the National Anthem is also played on certain occasions.
