Acne Breakout: Know Your Skin Type Before Starting Any Caring Regimen

 

Skin, the largest organ in your body needs proper care and attention to look healthy and beautiful. Through proper skincare, you can improve your overall appearance and achieve a healthy skin..A healthy and glowing skin can give you the required confidence regardless of your age.

You should change your skin care routine according to the altering climate each year. As the climatic conditions change, you can notice the spontaneous changes in your skin nature, sometimes being in revolt with you, making it difficult for you to manage well. It will glow again if you give proper and nourishing care.

Below are some basic tips to follow for maintaining a healthy and beautiful skin in almost all climatic conditions.

 

Avoid Frequent Touching

Most of us have a tendency to touch our face or acne affected area, frequently. Avoid this habit completely. Sometimes, touching causes the germs in your hands to enter into the skin pores, leading to new acne breakouts and other problems like skin allergies.

 

Know Your Skin Type

Knowing your skin type is the first thing towards a better skin care. By knowing your skin better, you can give it the proper care that your particular skin type needs..

Below are five skin types that everyone should know before beginning your skin care regimen.

If you are using any beauty products,  better knowledge of your skin type will help you to choose the suitable product for you , which is the fundamental and most important part of skin care.You should always choose the product that suits your skin type.Normal Skin

Identifying normal skin type is easy because it seems not too oily or too dry. This type of skin have very tiny pores in it. So it is less likely to accumulate dirt or dust in this type of skin.Cleansing and moisturising can be done, but it is not a must have for this type of skin.

Dry Skin

Dry Skin is easily identifiable because it tends to feel tight or sometimes broken.This type of skin always seems dry and rough.Sometimes dry skin has an oily appearance too. People having dry skin must use a moisturiser or other creams to ease the discomfort and conceal the scars if necessary. It will also gives a healthy look to your skin.

Oily Skin

Oily skin seems shiny and feel wet when touching. Since the pores in oily skin are large, dirt and dust easily accumulate inside it causing acne breakouts and related problems. Weekly cleansing, moisturising and necessary for this type of skin. Exfoliation also helps to manage oily skin.

Combination Skin

In people having having combination skin, different parts of the skin shows different characteristics. Sometimes, the area around nose, chin, temple etc. seems oily while cheeks dry and other parts seems normal. Exfoliation, cleansing and moisturising helps to improve the beauty of combination skin.

Sensitive Skin

This skin type is very sensitive and difficult to manage. It is easy to form scars and other marks on sensitive skin. This type of skin most often seems allergic to cosmetic products. The nature of sensitive skin quickly alters with a change in climate.

 

Cleansing, Toning and Moisturizing

Cleansing, toning and moisturising can be done for all types of skin. It should be done at least two days in a week.

Cleansing: Make it a habit of doing this twice a day ie, in the morning and before going to bed.  This will give your skin a natural look.

 

How to Apply a Cleanser

Wash your face thoroughly.
Apply cleanser with a cotton when the face is still wet.
Massage gently with circular motion and leave it for few minutes.
Wash thoroughly or wipe off with wet cotton or sponge.
Pat dry using a clean towel.
After 10-15 minutes, apply a suitable toner.

Toning is recommended or done to balance  the natural PH level of the skin which is lost  through cleansing. It will also helps to fight against germs and bacterias and increase the resistance power of the skin.
Many types of toners are available in the market today. While purchasing toners, care should be given to select the one that suits your skin. Rose water is an all natural toner that gives yor skin a healthy look.

After the toner gets dry, apply a good moisturiser and give a massage using finger tips.Make sure that whatever you apply to your face , apply it to your neck also.

Exfoliate your skin once in a week. A facial mask done after exfoliation will give your skin, more shine and beauty.

 

Role of Diet in Maintaining a Healthy Skin

Diet also plays an important role in how your skin looks like. Always have a well-balanced diet. Include plenty of fruits, vegetables, grains, cereals and protein in your diet. Nutrient rich foods and foods that contain healthy fats will help to maintain a healthy skin. Drinking enough water is an essential part of skin care. Make sure that you
drink at least eight glasses of water daily.
